Am Samstag, dem 22.10.2011, um 20 Uhr machen wir wieder einmal einen Tanzabend mit altenglischen Country-Dances! Mitmachen kann jeder, der Spaß an Kreis- und Gassentänzen aus dem England des 17. und 18. Jahrhunderts hat! Bitte leichtes Schuhwerk mitbringen - einen Tanzpartner mitzubringen ist nicht erforderlich!

Ladies and gentlemen,

"Dance and culture of nobility" school and "Precious than pearl" female club invite you to "Russian ball in tradition of 19 century", 29 of October, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., New Town Hall, Prague, Czech Republic. Programme of this ball: dances, historical plays, stand-up meal. Cost of ticket is 15 euro.

Nous sommes heureux de vous convier à notre second Bal Renaissance qui aura lieu le samedi 5 novembre 2011 à la salle Pétrarque (Montpellier), dans le magnifique Hôtel de Varennes, construit au XIIIème siècle (2, place Pétrarque, non loin de la Basilique Notre-Dame-des-Tables dans le centre historique de Montpellier.

Menschen, die zu verschiedenen Zeiten gelebt haben, versammeln sich zum Tanz, der die Standesunterschiede aufhebt. Papst und Königin, Bürger und Bauern, Reiche und Arme reichen sich dazu die Hände.

Dieses alte Motiv aus Kunst und Literatur bildet das Szenario für ein makaber-fröhliches Fest voll schwarzem Humor. (Größtenteils) guterhaltene Ballbesucher/innen aus verschiedenen Epochen werden die anderen Gäste im schönen historischen Spiegelsaal zu ihren Lieblingstänzen bitten.

Nein, natürlich nicht die Teaparty! Die ist ja schon über zwanzig Jahre her. Inzwischen trinken wir den Tee wieder anstatt ihn in den Hafen zu kippen. Und wenn uns ein paar Engländer dabei die Ehre geben, soll’s uns nur recht sein.

in 19th century dress

The dancers of Società di Danza, in nineteenth-century ball gown, dance according to the style of the masters of time quadrille, contredaces, waltzes, mazurkas, marches, and galop. The dances are reconstructed based on the study of the manuals of the nineteenth century European dance, and performed on music by Verdi and Strauss.
