Renaissance

Inspired by records of Polish court customs at the reign of the last Jagiellons, the performance is a vivid illustration of court choreographies of the time. In Poland a fashion for masquerades and Italian court entertainments was initiated by Queen Bona Sforza. Sporting rich Renaissance costumes and stylized masks, dancers transport the audience into the world of the Renaissance carnival, where fantasy, love and court intrigues await.

Nous vous proposons deux disciplines, danse renaissance italienne et danse baroque, réparties en quatre cours pouvant être choisis séparément ou à la suite. Un cours comprendra au total 12 heures d’enseignement.

So wie Cesare Negri war er ein ausgezeichneter Geiger. Ob er tanzte wie Negri ist nicht bekannt. Er begann seine Karriere als Musiker am Hofe der Gonzaga`s in Mantua, wo er sicher auch Monteverdi begegnete, und später arbeitete er in Dresden und Bonn. In Dresden veröffentlichte er 5 Bücher mit Tanzmusik wie z.B. Gailliarden, Maskeraden u.a.. Im Mittelpunkt des Kurses steht sein „Capriccio Stravagante“ worin er meisterhafte Tanzmelodien kombiniert mit lustigen Imitationen mit gackernden Hühnern, kläffenden Hunden oder fechtenden Katzen andeutet.

Historisches Tanzfest mit Okzitanis

Ein festlicher Abend mit Tänzen aus Mittelalter und Renaissance für alle Tanzfreunde und interessierte Neulinge.

Zum Tanz spielt das Duo Okzitanis, das auch alle Tänze fachkundig anleitet: Kreis-, Hecken- und Figuren-Tänze, von der Ausgelassenheit dörflicher Feste bis hin zur Pracht höfischer Bälle.

Auch die Gaumenfreuden kommen nicht zu kurz. In den Tanzpausen kredenzt der Wirt ein historisches Mahl.

Dance while you sing, and sing while you dance at St Johns Church Hall, Constitution Ave, Reid. 7.30pm - 11.30. 
Everyone welcome, no partners necessary and all dances led. Please bring a plate of food for the late-evening supper table.
