The atmosphere of a reputable, exciting epoch comes to life again in 2014 – we hope to welcome you in our 2nd Jane Austen Ball. This unique event is one of its kind in Hungary, and the Prónay Castle – one of the few fortunate noble residences in the county of Nógrád to see a revival –, with its elegant interiors, antique furnitures, nostalgic but vivid venues is the ideal location of this exceptional event.

Nous apprendrons le Menuet d'Hugger, d'après le "Dance Book TB" de 1826.
Ce menuet est une danse de couple, avec des pas du Premier Empire et une stylisation des figures obligées du XVIIIème siècle.

An Evening at Almacks: dancing to the music of Green Ginger band with MC Stuart Marsden, filmed in the BBC reconstruction of a Pride and Prejudice ball. Tickets £12; feathers and diamonds not compulsory. 

Come and enjoy the charming square dances that were the favourite activity of Jane Austen's youth. Sociable and varied, these were little gems of choreography and we present new dances devised for the assembly rooms of England.

Um einen breiten Tänzerkreis anzusprechen wird die­ser Kurs in zwei Gruppen durchge­führt:

Markus Lehner wird die fortgeschrittenen Tän­zer betreuen: Auf dem Programm stehen eine Auswahl von Tänzen aus den Büchern von Chivers, Wilson und anderen Sammlungen des frühen 19. Jahrhunderts.

Ein Schwerpunkt wird dabei auf der Erarbeitung der Tänze mit dem zeitgemäßen Schritt­material liegen.

Special event with overseas guest Dr John Gardiner-Garden—director of the Earthly Delights Historic Dance Academy, author of 15 dance books, producer of 8 dance music CDs and a wonderfully engaging dance leader.

Wednesday 11 September, 2.30pm - 6.30pm, Barrington Court: Manor House Dance Party—tracing dances that lasted from Tudor to Victorian times.
