Das Seminar wird in 2 Gruppen geteilt, die von Jadwiga Novaczek und Nicolle Klinkeberg unterrichtet werden.

Freitag Basisübungen zum Schrittmaterial für alle.

Samstag Vormittag Pavaniglia mit Jadwiga für Routiniers im Cinquecento und Canario mit Nicolle für Anfänger.

Samstag Nachmittag Spagnoletta Nuova (da farsi in terzo) mit Jadwiga für Anfänger und Canario mit Nicolle für Wiederholungstäter.

Freie Gestaltung des Abends durch die Teilnehmer.

Sonntag Wiederholung und gemeinsamer Abschluß.

Dieses Wochenendseminar führt uns auf eine Reise durch das Europa vergangener Jahrhunderte. Mit französischen Kreistänzen und Pavanen, englischen Measures und Country Dances begeben wir uns in die Tanzsäale von Schlössern, in Galerien von Adelssitzen und städtischen Tanzhäusern. Eine bunte Auswahl an einfachen Tänzen bietet einen Überblick über die reizvolle und vielfältige Tanzlandschaft dieser Epochen.

Course in Basic Baroque with Jane Gingell:
The Sarabande

This course focuses on step and arm co-ordination for beginners, working with sarabande sequences. We will prepare a short choreography to sarabande music, and work on recreating the grace and fluidity of the sarabande style.

This course is open to all - students don't need to have any previous experience of baroque dance.

For one weekend, the 14th century Rathaus of Miltenberg, shall play host to a school of dance, known in the tongue of more refined courts as an academia della danza. In addition to learning dances from the courts of the Gonzaga, Valois, Lancasters and Tudors, there shall be a feast, as well as terpsichorean revels and a ball as no one has seen in many years. Come one and all to partake!

An Introduction to Magri

In this course, taught by Jane Gingell, we'll be exploring social dance styles from Magri's Trattato of 1779, including contradanza, minuet, and step sequences from his version of Aimable Vainqueur, "Amabile".
The course level is general, but students will need to have at least a little experience of baroque dance, or other dance style with arm movements (ballet, flameco etc).

The course runs from Friday evening to 16.00 on Sunday.

Saturday and Sunday 30-31 March, 2013. In her annual Easter course, Barbara teaches notated dances from the Baroque repertoire.

Occasional performances at historic venues are on offer, but no partner or costume is required.
