Am Samstag den 30.11.13 wird der alljährliche Winterball in Wiesbaden stattfinden.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen Tänze von John Playford, bzw. in dessen Tradition (z.B. von G. Roodman), aber evtl. auch Tänze aus der Jane Austen Zeit, bzw. Branlen oder Pavanen.

Der Ball wird in festlicher Kleidung stattfinden, mit ambientiger Auststattung und evtl. mit Livemusik (steht noch nicht fest)

Jeden 4ten Sonntag im Monat Offenes Training, auch für alle die mal reinschnuppern wollen

Schwerpunkt auf Playford und entsprechenden moderneren Tänzen (z.B. nach G. Roodman), sowie Jane Austen, Walzer oder auch Branlen, Pavanen aus dem 15/16 Jhd. , gelegentlich auch etwas aus dem Folkbereich.

Join us for a journey through time and space to discover the origins of modern dancing. We will visit ballrooms of the fashion capitals of their time and experience elegance and style of previous epochs. Dance and travel with us!

1714 verlor Katalonien die Unabhängigkeit. 2014 ist das symbolische Jahr des Strebens nach "Freiheit". In Vorbereitung sind historische Festaktivitäten, die Tanz- und/oder Musikeinlagen beinhalten sollen.

Die Planungsphase der Tanzkurse und des Bal folk-Abends unter dem Titel

 Papers, workshops and short performances are invited on topics connected with this theme.

Speakers on the social context of early dance might wish to consider:

Special event with overseas guest Dr John Gardiner-Garden—director of the Earthly Delights Historic Dance Academy, author of 15 dance books, producer of 8 dance music CDs and a wonderfully engaging dance leader.

Wednesday 4 September, 7.30-10.30pm: Time Traveller Dance Party—tasting treats from all 10 of John’s new Historic Dance volumes.

Dress up in a historic costume to make the evening more special - and join dance friends of John and Aylwen who are on tour with them - to dance in this most goergous location, pictured above.

We invite you to join us at this unique multi-era workshop with internationally renowned faculty on the beautiful campus of UC Santa Barbara. Because of popular demand, our workshop now offers 2 additional days of study, allowing students to choose from a convenient weekend intensive or an even deeper investigation into the material with a smaller focus group.
