By using the new CD, Gloria et Malum, Italian courts dance music of the fifteenth century.

This work brings together approaches and research of historical dances and music and was born from close collaboration between Chieko Ono, director of the ancient Dance Company Belreguardo and the Ensemble Micrologus.

How did they dance in the 1450s? The Dolmetsch Historical Dance Society offers a series of structured workshops providing a fresh perspective on the foundation of skills, steps and style prescribed by dancing masters of the time.

In this workshop, the second in the series, Hazel Dennison will teach balli and bassadanze from the Italian sources of Domenico and Ebreo. Studies will focus on steps, style and embellishment within each of the four misure. Dances will be placed in a wider cultural context. Beginners and improvers welcome, alongside more experienced dancers.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ATTENDANCE IN FESTIVAL PAWANA 2010

1. The workshops are integral part of Festival and contain 2 independent blocks. The number of vacancies in each group has been limited to ~ 30 people. The minimum is 12 people.
a) XV and XVI century Italian dances (intermediate and advanced).
b) XIX century

An diesem Wochenende erarbeiten wir ein neues Repertoire, Technik, Stil und Interpretation von italienischen Tänzen dieses Jahrhunderts.
Wir probieren Improvisationen auf Saltarello und Bassa Danza und üben Musikalität und rythmische Präzision
