Renaissance Dances - Rhythms of Renaissance!

The morning is totally dedicated to the understanding of the dances of the late renaissance. Each day we will analyze the music and choreographies and try the more difficult variations of each single dance mentioned above.

The theme of 15` "Cracovia Danza" Court Dance Festival is music, which has been connected with dance since its beginnings. G. Dumanoir's work "Le Mariage de la Musique avec la Danse" ("The Marriage of Music and Dance") proves that the inseparable bound between those two arts has existed for many years. Masters of dance played on instruments and musicians performed the art of dance. Through the events of the "Cracovia Danza" Court Dance Festival devoted to this subject we desire to find this unique harmony of dance and music, nowadays so hard to achieve and less practiced than before.

Wo früher Seide hergestellt wurde, widmen  wir uns – bezogen auf die italienische Kultur zwischen Mittelalter und Renaissance – in malerischer Umgebung der Kunstgeschichte, der Kunst des Tanzes und der Tafelkultur.

Man kann sich für den Besuch eines der Hauptkurse am Vormittag sowie eines oder mehrerer Nachmittagskurse entscheiden. Zwei Exkursionen und ein festlicher Abschluss runden die Woche ab.

La danse est mouvement. Néanmoins, Bernadette Jacquet et Stéphane Quéant, danseurs chorégraphes de Bassa Toscana, proposent, par des mots, de capter les premiers pas de cet art éphémère.

Du XVe siècle à la Renaissance, nous connaissons essentiellement la danse de cour. Bien danser, savoir chanter et jouer d’un instrument permettaient de tenir avec grâce et dignité son rang dans la société. La Renaissance en musique et en danse est caractérisée par l’introduction dans le registre courtois de formes et d’éléments populaires. C’est ainsi qu’une part importante est accordée aux rondes, facteur de convivialité et de cohésion sociale.
